Pool patrons enjoy the waves on Monday, June 15, at the Valley Park Wave Pool in Hurricane.

Mondays at the Waves of Fun pool, holidays excepted, are slow days with attendance numbering around fifty individuals. The number on Monday, June 15, was a bit above fifty. Surprising, considering the day’s low-70’s high temperature.

Attendance swells on hot days. On Saturday, June 13, upper 80 degree readings made for a busy day and cause for the pool to post “We are at max capacity!!! We will not be letting people in until people leave!!!” on Facebook.

The pool maximum is partially dependent upon staffing. On Saturday, lack of staff resulted in a 439-present limit. The absolute max is 600 visitors at a time.

The pool also hit the allowed maximum on Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th.
